I truly dig the whole up-cycled, found object trend that's been going on in the art world. I like that home made look. I like seeing something and being like "what! he used THAT!"
how clever? how witty?
I appreciate that in an artist. My inspiration is found in the transition. Turning something into something else but being able to still tell what it used to be. I think that it makes good art. Things then become familiar. People attach their own experiences to these objects in use because they have had an experience with it. It's appealing to the masses, and hard not to appreciate.

ReplyDeleteI like the Barbies and twigs. Who did that? Work smallll work with metal do it do it do it, let's go buy sketchbooks and try discipline for a week and then drop it like a bad habit and pick up clay and throw and paint and I'll see you next week, or on the couch because Proj Run season finale is on and just to keep this academic: think about using light. Your artwork always experiments with this, maybe think about it? and trust yourself, if anything, i think you just need to delve into the art world for ever and always. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

these inspirations resonates extremely well with your energy and persona! it's exciting because you are creating these works with your narrative but in the end i am left on the edge of my seat narrating my own meaning. there's something very priceless about that...the idea of viewers having universal unity...and also being able to have this unity between artist and viewer...
